New Minimum Wage
Government Gazette 50073, published on 2 February 2024, introduced a new minimum wage for every worker, including farmworkers and domestic workers for R27.58 for each ordinary hour worked.
The purpose of the National Minimum Wage is to advance economic development and social justice by improving the wages of the lowest-paid workers, protecting workers from unreasonably low wages, and preserving the value of the national minimum wages.
